Cadmium Yellow Medium Hue is a mid-toned, slightly red yellow that adds warmth and energy to any painting. When mixed wet into wet with Cerulean Blue, it creates a wide range of textured greens, from dusky shadow greens to vibrant spring greens, depending on how much water and color you use.
This paint disperses beautifully in water, allowing for smooth and rich washes. Our new formulas provide the density and richness of classic cadmium colors, but they are safe and vibrant. The hues closely match their traditional counterparts, offering cleaner mixtures and stronger tints—meaning a little goes a long way.
Additionally, the working properties of this paint—such as staining power, semi-transparency, and excellent lightfastness—are nearly identical to the lower-soluble cadmium colors we previously offered.
